Our broad portfolio of specialty carbons offers balance of color, conductivity and processability. We have also added carbon nanostructures in our portfolio offering unique functionality.
Thermoplastic primers and anti-static coatings require electrically conductive additives. Technology advancements in automotive, consumer electronics and aerospace industries are driving the demand for such additives. The choice of the right additive can impact the ultimate resistivity, processability and applicability of a coating.
Carbon blacks have electrically conductive properties. In electrostatic coatings, conductive carbon blacks can be used in both water-based and solvent-based primers. On plastics, the conductive primer improves the contact and adhesion of the electrocoat layer to the basecoat. Our VULCAN conductive carbon black products are an excellent choice for use in electrostatic coatings because of their exceptional conductivity and processability.
Our CNS are unique conductive additives with the high structure of crosslinked branched nanotubes. This forest-like crosslinked structure enables achieving desired conductivity at very low loading, resulting in a low color impact.
