We are committed to diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) and fostering an inclusive workplace where all employees can contribute, thrive and grow.
We strive to create a safe and open environment where everyone is supported to contribute to our success and have an impact – where everyone feels accepted, respected and valued. This allows for better decision-making, drives innovative thinking and inspires collaboration to better serve our customers. Our goal is to ensure that all employees experience our workplace as a welcoming, equitable and respectful environment where everyone can achieve their true potential.
All of the ways that we differ, such as age, race, gender, ethnicity, education, thinking styles, religion, nationality, and sexual orientation.
Providing for fair treatment for all people through practices and policies designed to ensure that identity is not predictive of opportunities or workplace outcomes.
An environment where differences are valued, where everyone has the opportunity to develop skills and talents in ways that are consistent with our values and business objectives.
Our CEO, Sean Keohane, joined more than 1,000 CEOs in signing the pledge. By signing onto the commitment, Cabot Corporation is promising to take action to cultivate a workplace where diverse perspectives and experiences are welcomed and respected and where employees feel encouraged to speak up and take part in constructive conversations around issues of DE&I.
"I am proud to continue our commitment to DE&l by signing the CEO Action for Diversity and Inclusion Pledge. By expanding our focus on DE&l, we are helping to build a more positive, innovative and creative environment, which leads not only to superior employee satisfaction, but to greater business success." -Sean Keohane, president and chief executive officer
DE&I is embedded in our culture, our core values and our sustainability agenda. Our 2025 Sustainability Goals include:
At Cabot, providing an inclusive environment enables us to continue our commitment to increasing diverse representation that recognized us as one of America’s Greatest Workplaces for Diversity in 2023 by Newsweek and Plant-A Insights Group. This list recognizes the top 1,000 companies in the U.S. across six main economic sectors and 34 industries that not only celebrate diversity but implement policies that cultivate inclusive workplaces.
Change is constant and the dedication and loyalty from our employees contributes to our organization’s growth and success. Their commitment is not just a testament to their professionalism but also to their belief in our shared vision and values. At Cabot, long tenured employment speaks volumes about resilience, adaptability, and passion for what we do and demonstrates valuable qualities that inspire all of us to strive for excellence.
We are proud to be one of the inaugural sponsors of The Future of STEM Scholars Initiative (FOSSI). Founded by the American Chemistry Council (ACC), the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), Chemours and HBCU Week Foundation, FOSSI seeks to increase the number of underrepresented professionals in the STEM workforce by providing scholarships to students pursuing STEM degrees at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), and connecting those students to leadership development, mentoring and internship opportunities.
Our ongoing sponsorship of GLAD Legal Advocates and Defenders, includes The Spirit of Justice Award Celebration. This is a powerful event that brings together supporters of LGBTQ+ equality for an opportunity to unite in resistance, look toward a future of true justice and support GLAD’s life-changing mission.
We sponsored the 50th Anniversary Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Breakfast, which honors the legacy of Dr. King. Cabot employees and family members commemorated the legacy of Dr. King. This annual tradition is the nation’s oldest MLK memorial breakfast. We have a long-standing, ongoing partnership with this annual event.
As part of our ongoing efforts to honor and help support our brave service members, we partner with American Corporate Partners (ACP) through their mentorship program. ACP is a national nonprofit assisting post-9/11 veterans in their transition from the military to the civilian workforce and towards fulfilling, long-term careers.
