Our products offer improve adhesive systems by reducing the viscosity in the application without compromising sag resistance.

In construction applications, including chemical anchoring adhesives, polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS)-treated fumed silicas are used for anti-settling of fillers during storage of highly filled adhesive systems. The higher aged yield stress they impart also enables a lower fumed silica loading level in an adhesive or sealant formulation.

Our CAB-O-SIL® fumed silicas promote improved mechanical, optical and stability properties of adhesives and sealants:

• During storage, it enables reduced settling and can help to extend shelf-life.
• During application, it enables consistent viscosity, which allows formulators to tailor the extrusion rate and bead properties. 
• Upon curing, it promotes improved tensile strength, tear strength and modulus properties.
• Certain CAB-O-SIL fumed silica products can also help maximize optical clarity for those room temperature vulcanizing (RTV) applications that require transparency.
